I’ve driven around parking lots and stuff, but never really much else. Last time, my stepdad had a manual Chevy Cruze from his dealership, I drove to a stop sign not too far from my house, until I stalled and my mom was freaking out so i just gave up.

I drove an HFP Modified V6 2012 Accord (every HFP mod available) to and back from a local mcdonalds with my stepdad. I only stalled one time, when I got to my first stoplight. A Black Ford Fusion kept honking at me and flashing highbeams when I stalled, when he had clear room to go around. So fuck you, Fusion.

The only other mistake I made was I floored it by accident going into 2nd gear and I spun the tires and bolted forward (the car is one of the faster cars i’ve driven).

I’d like more practice, but for now I’d prefer an auto daily... it seems like alot of hassle for the primary daily. It’d be nice for a secondary car, it did feel badass.

You'll get used to it in a few weeks, and it'll become second nature.

It really isnt that bad for a daily. Sucks in traffic, but you get used to it.

It really does become second nature. My first car was my 2002 Subie Impreza 2.5TS wagon. It was a stick, and before I got it, I’d only had a few parking lot lessons with friends.

Picked it up and drove it home in city traffic...stalled a few times, but man was I proud of myself, very memorable experience, haha! :P

Keep at it, I don’t want to go back to an Auto now if I don’t have to. I’ve driven nothing but manuals (except for my mom’s and bro’s cars) since 2008 now. :)

It gets easier with practice, it’s almost second nature for me now.

DD one and it becomes as easy as driving an automatic. It takes a while, and the first week or two is stressful, but it’s pretty awesome once you feel comfortable with it. (DD’d several manuals for years).

I bought my first manual 9 days ago. I've driven it every day. I'm not much of a natural. I've actually had only understanding when I've killed it from the cars behind me. And it does become second nature.

I’ve never driven an auto but as others have said, just a little practice whenever you can and some patience and it’ll become second nature.

Spend more time practicing in a parking lot that has a grade. Once you can stop/start about 10x in a row without stalling on a grade in that parking lot, then move out to the road. You’ll be fine.
